Quality assurance is a vital stage of the development cycle that businesses shouldn’t overlook. Before your software can finally go public and conquer the world, it should go through a thorough testing process.Making your product a subject to different types of software testing helps to ensure its quality and overall performance. Detecting bugs at an early stage, as a rule, doesn’t cause such a massive loss to a business compared to when errors pop up after the product launch. That’s why QA testing matters!

Humans are creatures of habit. If you design a website that expects the users to change their behavior then the chances are you are going to encounter problems. From when were born our behaviors and motivations for doing things begin to take shape. We respond in a way that is unique to us. Some people prefer to start the day with a cigarette whereas for others its a trip to the gym. This is human nature. As a Usability Testing consultancy we spend countless amounts of time trying to help businesses and organizations reach their Usability goals. We try our best to adapt their services, processes and systems to make them more human friendly. That is the ultimate goal with User Testing; to make the product as useful and usable as it can be. Recently though Ive been thinking about the whole process. At Testing User we may advise you of a system, process or tool that is more usable

User centred design is a relatively new concept. Traditionally the focus has always been put on User requirements and their use of the products themselves. The marketing side of projects has always been left to the marketing department. With e-commerce sites in particular a web presence must meet the demands of its users and ultimately convince them to purchase your product or service. This is where User Testing or Usability Testing as its sometimes known comes into play. At Testing User Marketing and Usability are treated as pretty much the same thing because we recognize that if you conduct testing it should ultimately address as many of your business concerns as possible. With e-commerce were essentially talking about sales, but web sites commercial or not must all achieve their objectives in getting the User to do what you want them to. This can be anything from filling in a

As a Usability engineer I have gained quite a lot of experience through nearly 10 years of commitment to how people research and observe to gain a better understanding of natural human behaviour. My particular field of expertise has been the study of interactions with digital interfaces, mostly web sites. I wonder what its like to be a participant in a Usability test Here at Testing User we have developed a product that allows you the opportunity to connect with your users in their real world environment. You might have heard us brag a little about how familiar our User Testing panel is with the software and how it allows for real User interaction. Yesterday though I got an opportunity to enlist in a Testing User study being done for a new client. My first chance after years of conducting studies to actually participate as a real world user and see how our new system performs. Once

When you hear people talk about the above they are essentially observing the same problems but from different angles. They are all interlinked to contribute to the success of a project which ultimately depends on the product meeting the expectations of its targeted users. Let's first break them down though. User Interface design or user engineering refers to the general design of products which depend heavily on user interaction. This can apply to nearly everything including; mobile phones, household items, cars but most importantly websites. Yes in the last 5 to 10 years there has been heavy focus on websites because they have become the mouthpiece of nearly every brand. Usability Testing has helped companies to answer the questions that are crucial to the success of their website. Most commonly why do Users leave my website? User Experience design approaches Usability problems

In my experience there is no better way to prepare a product or service for the gruelling competitive market than Usability Testing. Just the thought of gaining a little insight into how a product really performs is enough to convert most product designers. There is a 'but' though. The price for connecting with real users in the real world may be enough to make you think twice, and ask yourself whether this investment is really worth it? You may some experience in the world of User Testing, or you may even be a Usability consultant, but lets be honest the one thing we all know is that the serious testing products out there are all but out of reach to most businesses. It's really grown in the last 5-6 years so it would be safe to assume that the quality of the products have grown with it. However though we see some very sophisticated Usability products out there, we don't yet have the

When businesses chooses to experiment with a methodology like Usability Testing, the chances are that they are not that familiar with it. Probably one of the biggest challenges facing those brave enough to experiment with User Testing is choosing the right service. Testing User clients come from businesses both small and large, but the feedback we receive tells us that our Usability product is different. Different because the next biggest challenge after you have chosen the right service is not to do with the quality of the data itself or the feedback you receive, but the extraction and presentation aspect of all these numbers and statistics you get back. I mean think about it the goal of any business looking for a return on their Usability investment is the prospect of extracting meaningful Usability insight. Furthermore they want this insight and data to be actually used and applied

The Testing User package was designed to be the complete solution the market craves. The viewpoint of most in business who have experimented with User Testing is that it the prospect of just gaining some Usability insight into a product is worth the headache of trawling through the catalog of Usability consultancy services out there who will apply there methodologies to your product at more often than not a price that will make your eyes water. One questions that gets asks a lot is can you really conduct worthwhile Usability Testing with only five users? Well there are many different expert opinions concerning the magic number of five. Its important to mention though that User Testing is subjective in the first instance, so saying there is a fixed number of users that can be used in all tests obviously isn’t going to be the one solution. It is safe to say though that with five users testing it may very well be all you need to answer your questions and uncover the problems concerning your interface. The theory makes it case by claiming that five users is all that is necessary to uncover approximately 85% of your Usability issues, based on the probability that your Testing users come across a problem as 31%. Like I said obviously you cant apply this to every User Testing scenario as if the five user theory was used to
